camps

Our horse day camps are offered during school vacations and throughout the summer. Camps are open to riders of all levels, from ages five and up.

While at camp, parents can expect their child to learn to properly care of a horse including mucking stalls, grooming, and bathing; how to tack up a horse including how to care for the tack; and of course, how to ride! Each camper will receive individual riding lessons during their time at Stonewall Stables.

Riders are required to bring lunch, a snack, and a sense of humor!

clinics

Throughout her career, Virginia has developed contacts and fostered professional relationships that benefit all of her students. West Neck Farm has been fortunate to host Charlotte McEnroe, Ellen McFarland, Barton Patrick and other top notch trainers in clinics that enhance our rider's skills.

Clinics are open to all riders, boarders or not. We encourage participation from all riders as there is always more to learn.

Clinic fees are set at the time of scheduling. Please be sure to watch our Instagram feed located on our homepage, as well as our Facebook page, for clinic options.

team

West Neck Farm is proud to be the home of the Midcoast IEA Team!

The Interscholastic Equestrian Association promotes horsemanship to public, private and home-schooled students between grades 6 and 12 at the middle and high school levels. No rider is required to own a horse or have any show experience.

The Midcoast Maine Equestrian Team is coached by Virginia Shaw and managed by Kristen Mugnai. Virginia and Kristen work hard to build confidence, show experience, and overall horsemanship skills in each rider they work with. Under their direction, the team has regularly achieved success at the team and personal level.
